As clients get older, their frailty increases, and their mobility decreases. They may have a need for a new walker for stability or a commode by their bedside so they aren't stumbling down a dark hallway while they are half asleep. Did you know that Medicare will likely cover the cost of these items?
If prescribed by a doctor, Medicare will cover medically-necessary durable medical equipment (DME.) Some larger, more expensive items will be rented, others will be the property of the client. Their DME supplier must also be one who is enrolled in Medicare, such as Flynn's Pharmacy.
Medicare-covered DME includes, but isn't limited to:
Blood sugar meters
Blood sugar test strips
Canes
Commode chairs
Crutches
Hospital beds
Oxygen equipment
Patient lifts
Walkers
Wheelchairs & scooters
